Horses are in Heidi's blood. Her family tree is deeply rooted with horses. On her Mother's side, they have been breeding Palominos and Quarter Horses for generations. It started all with her Great Grandfather who decided to start breeding Quarter Horse Palominos. He owned one of the founding stallions of PHBA called Top Hat. He was dedicated to breeding top quality palominos with perfect confirmation, gold coin color, and pure white manes and tails. Heidis family has been riding in the Rose Parade with these beautiful horses since the mid 1940s and continues the legacy until this day.
On her Father's side, her Grandfather Booth Hanson, was the owner of Hanson Stock Farm and ran one of the largest Thoroughbred ranches in Southern California for over thirty years, until his retirement three years ago. Spending lots of time with her grandfather has given Heidi great insight into the horse racing business and business in general. He is an excellent businessman, who has tremendous passion for breeding, raising, and training thoroughbreds.
